What a wonderful start with a local manufactured candy in Gwalior!
My grandfather got it as prasad from the guruji we follow. One of their main temples is near Gwalior located in central India. One can get the taste of nembu (lemon) flavour as soon as your tongue licks it (probably because our taste buds are most sensitive for the sour taste at the tip of out tongue).
On 15th December 2008 its one bite made me taste a soft covering which transcended to the inner hard actual toffee (don’t forget the local made tag).
Its wrapper read the following: (Including the Spelling errors)
Kwality Food Product Gwalio-4
Sugar Boiled Confectionary Contains Permitted Synthetic Colours and Added Flavours!
In case you ever get the chance of having this toffee I would say-Enjoy chewy crust!
As they say – It happens only in India!
